For the NHK Taiga drama Idaten: Tokyo Olympics Story, which aired from 2018 to 2019, SOU・SOU produced and supervised some of the costumes used in the series. These include the Hinomaru T-shirt worn by the protagonist Shiso Kanakuri, which became the official uniform of the Japanese team at the Stockholm Olympics. Based on historical materials from that time, we recreated them as faithfully as possible.

NHK Taiga drama Idaten: Tokyo Olympics Story
Broadcast period: 2018–2019
Shiso Kanakuri, the first Japanese athlete to participate in the Olympics, and Masaji Tabata, who brought the Olympic Games to Japan. Without these two figures, Japan’s Olympic history would not have existed. The drama portrays the turbulent half-century of Japan’s Olympic journey, from the disastrous first participation at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics to the realization of the Tokyo Olympics in 1964, filled with both tears and laughter.
